Glowin' at the Golden Globes
Goddesses of the Golden Globes. I rarely contribute about fashion, but what a night for women! They were the stars of the entire night and most of these women have such amazing personalities, they'd shine regardless of what they're wearing. The entire network of actors and actresses opted to wear black as a political statement to show their support for victims of sexual abuse and harassment within the entertainment industry and in our country's culture. How do you stand out in a sea full of black gowns? Attention to detail and choosing the right accessories, that's how.
These were my favorite stunners who glowed last night.
Viola Davis blew me away with this regal velvet Brandon Maxwell. She glowed not just because she was dripping with diamonds, her skin was just plain radiant. She finished her fab look with a cool fro and a nude lippy.
Issa Rae had her year so this year at the Golden Globes, she had to show out. She stole the show with her high-slit Atelier Prabal Gurung gown. The shimmering fabric and ruched shoulders and effortless cape made this look a winner.
Kerry Washington is always a fashion favorite. Even though she chose a simple silhouette, she made a bold choice by opting for low key accessories with the exception of cool-girl approved close-toed embellished booties.
I'm loving this pixie cut on Kate Hudson who normally rocks wavy long locks. The focus of all our attention would be at this expensive pendant that was perfectly placed on her deep plunge gown. Her sheer Valentino was instantly memorable with the argyle detailing that cascaded down the floor.
Alicia Vikander may be a newbie in the acting community but she's owning every carpet she's on. If this gown was in white, it would be impeccable enough to be a wedding gown. Even in black, it was regal and soft. The long sleeves and open back were just enough to make this look sexy and fresh.
Sarah Paulson is known for taking fashion risks. This time, she kept it pretty classic with a full satin skirt on the bottom and a sequin halter top with a pretty feminine bow.
Tracee Ellis Ross consistently slays with fresh bold looks. The simple one-shoulder Marc Jacobs was fitted to her body perfectly. Her headwrap was a huge nod to African-American culture she advocates for so passionately.
Naomi has access to the best designers in the business. This gown was perfectly tailored for her. The stripe detailing was gorgeous and I found myself fascinated by the strips of fabric that simulated a cape. Her sleek signature 'do' made this a favorite H2T look.
Speaking of iconic stunners, Halle Berry is no exception. She always wows the carpet with her extremely figure flattering shapes and risque sheer panels. This amazing Zuhair Murad was one of the only short gowns of the night which instantly showed off her killer legs.
Jessica Biel was a vision in this elegant velvet and tulle gown. Her gorgeous dress was perfectly fitted in the bust and had sheer detailing in the voluminous A-line skirt which made the gown look ethereal and lighter.
Zoe Kravitz is normally subtle on the carpet and still manages to stand out in a positive way. Her gorgeous green emerald earrings gave us a flashback to the ones Angelina rocked on the carpet years ago. The simple shape kept all our attention on her sleek coif and simple makeup.
Instantly my favorite gown of the night. Catherine was so freaking beautiful she took my breath away. The amazing lace detail on this Zuhair Murad on the sleeves and bodice made this look unbeatable. How many women in the world (much less her age) could pull off a fully sheer train?
Sharon Stone shut it down at sixty something years old! Her perfectly toned body was perfect for this extremely risky nude panel gown with illusion detailing. Her son was probably a little embarrassed by the attention his mother received in this gown, but if you got it girl, flaunt it.
